The patina of weathered copper as it is exposed to the elements is the inspiration behind this rugged square ring of resin and silver. 

"I love the colour of aged copper monuments, the way that the material has been altered by it's environment to organically "paint" a man made object. To think iconic structures such as the statue of Liberty or the Lions of London were once a gleaming metallic copper seems hard to believe. These icons of our cities don't appear different day to day, as their transition is so gradual, if only we could watch it for long enough to perceive it.Through my own processes in the workshop I wanted to allude to a segment representing something bigger both in size and timescale. A lot of time and care has gone into this piece, to look after it please treat as a ceramic as it can break if dropped or knocked against a hard surface. Liquids and perfumes should be avoided. It can be cleaned if necessary with a soft clean, dry cloth.
